perhaps all of that planning that you do isn't quite finished until you waltz into the classroom and only THEN do you finish? right on the spot. i dunno - winging it often brings the magic! xo
That's good, solid, profound stuff. Particularly liked the little stage bit which, by the way, I sent on to Julia Fae who is a clown and would like that bit and probably all your stuff. What do you teach?
Bravo, how long have you been at it? I taught middle school for 9 years and high school for 5 years. I started teaching at 40 years old, when my shoulders and lower back were starting to fail me.
That's a good time to start actually. I taught for ten years and then took time off for kids before getting suckered back in at age 46 ! That reminds me - I need to change my Substack profile that still says I'm 44.
Loved this, Jodie. Spreading our little acorns as we also gather from others. An idea to be cherished, for certain.
Thank you!

True! It's the culmination and the wonder of "what will happen today!" If I'm being optimistic, I like to think I'm working on my listening skills.

I teach English now, but I used to teach Drama too. I've had my brush with clowning as well, haha!
